Fèis an Eilein is the Community Initiative of the Year

We are delighted that Fèis an Eilein was named as ‘Community Initiative of the Year, 2014’ at the Highland Third Sector Awards in Dingwall last night. Duncan MacInnes was there to collect the award for you.
It is particularly good that the resurrection of the Fèis as a two month community project in Sleat was recognised. It is also reassuring, in the face of financial cuts particularly to the arts sector, that the ‘Third Sector’ ie Community Volunteers, recognise the importance of arts events and culture in developing and sustaining community life.

Well done everyone involved in this year’s Fèis. This was one of the few awards that went to a named project, not an individual – and there were many inspiring people awarded last night.
We brought out our original Fèis an Eilein tartan as a back-drop to the image.

SEALL’s new administration starts in the New Year

SEALL is delighted that we have found a new part-time person to undertake some administration and book-keeping for us, starting in early January. Look out for more details soon.

SEALL is on holiday to 25 November!

The SEALL office is closed until Tuesday 25 November, so no-one will answer the phone and phone messages will not be heard!

If you send an e-mail we will read it and might even reply.

There is no need to book for the Inner Sound concert on 21 November – tickets at the door.

The same goes for Fred Morrison on 26 November, however you can reserve tickets by going to his event page here
