‘Made in Sleat’ Exhibition a ‘wow’ ends Saturday!

‘The Made in Sleat Exhibition’ in Talla Dhuisdeil, in the old Church on the main road above Isleornsay, is proving very popular – but it ends at 5pm on Saturday 1 August. A wide range of high-class talent on display and for sale, from artists and crafts people from the area. Free entry.

Earlier in the week it even hosted an afternoon concert from Paul Thompson who arrived on his electric Milk-Float, to sing alongside Daria Kulesh.

Skye Fair Trade Event Island during the Skye Festival

27July – 2 August
This year Skye achieved Fairtrade Island status and so we are having a week-long, islandwide celebration .
Look out for individual events. B&Bs, hotels, cafes and restaurants and businesses which support Fairtrade across the island are all being asked to do something special for  the event.
Look out for Fairtrade Bunting in places around Sleat which has been individually decorated by children from Sleat Primary School, part of an island-wide primary schools project.
Watch out for Martin’s Fairtrade Celebration Roadshow which will be popping up all over the island, including Armadale, during the Celebration Week. More details nearer the time.
Follow us on Facebook ‘Skye Fairtrade’ and meet Fiona the Fairtrade Banana who will be accompanying the roadshow. Watch out for further developments!

The Circus Comes to Town!

Come and visit the ‘Magpie’ tent at the entrance to the main part of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. Early on in the Skye Festival we have a great weekend of Circus skills and shows. Daytime events for over 5s, over 9s, teenagers and adults and a great Evening show for everyone. Places are limited and the demand will be big! Book your place and see all the details HERE

Tell the World about the Festival on Trip Advisor!

SEALL and the Skye Festival has a Trip Advisor page. We have two reviews so far – both 5* – so please add you own comments. Click on the title above to open up this page then go to our Trip Advisor which is called SEALL Events Skye

Opening Concert packed out!

The opening concert on Tuesday 7 July was packed to the doors with adults and lots of young folk, listening to a great concert from Sleat young performers Aoife Boyle, Calamarie McCalman, Emily MacDonald, Rodachan and Angus MacKinnon, and slightly older Eilidh Sgaimeal, Ciaran Whittle, and pipers from the SMO Short Courses. The Breakish Ceilidh Band filled the second half with some music sets and a dance. Thanks to everyone there who got the Skye Festival off to a great start.
