SEALL’s new Banner

LucyBannerLucy Conway from Eigg is supporting SEALL’s development project and here shows off SEALL’s brand new banner. This had its first public outing at Celtic Connections on Saturday 16 December at the concert with ‘Tional’ the ‘new Gaelic super-group’ that SEALL has nurtured over the last few years.

SEALL supports the ‘Scottish Music’ Brand

SEALL is delighted to take aboard the new ‘Scottish Music Brand’. This was launched by Hands Up for Trad at the recent Scots Trad Awards (did we tell you we won ‘Venue of the Year’?!) to promote our music as ‘Scottish’ across the world, rather than just generically ‘Celtic’.

SEALL presents new Children’s Programme

SEALL is promoting a lot more events for young people this Spring. Working with some of the best puppet companies and children’s theatre and dance performers we present a  programme of events, both during term-time for local schools and during the Easter holidays for everyone.

18 February Catherine Wheels Theatre ‘Story of the little Gentleman’ for Primary 1 to 3

23 March Puppet Animation Festival ‘The Fisherman and the Seal’ for 5 years and over

30 March Puppet Animation Festival ‘Moonbeam on a Cat’s Ear’ for 3 to 5 year old and familes

6 April Puppet Animation Festival ‘Zoomosaurus Puppet Workshop’ for over 7 years

9 April Children’s Dance Theatre ‘One Man Shoes’ for everyone

SEALL goes to Celtic Connections, twice

SEALL is having a presence at Celtic Connections in Glasgow. On Saturday 16 January the new Gaelic super-group from Skye performs in the CCA. ‘Tional’ has been promoted by SEALL on many occasions as part of our concert series with SMO’s Short Courses. (So much so that ‘Duncan’s Donuts’ was suggested as an alternative band name!). Duncan MacInnes from SEALL will be there to tell the world about our 2016 programme. He then returns for the four day Showcase Scotland, at the end of the month, joining promoters from all over the world. If you are in town, look out for SEALL.

Thank You, Creative Scotland!

SEALL has just received an offer of funding for its programme of events for the next year. It was, as expected, not quite what we asked for, but it is a healthy increase over last year’s funding. We will adjust our budgets and start planning for a great 2016 and Skye Festival.
