CREATING THEATRE – A CRASH COURSE IN DEVISING PERFORMANCE WITH PIP HAMBLY

How do you make a performance from scratch?

This workshop is your opportunity to see where the first inklings of a performance might come from, and how these can become the seeds of material for a performance.

Using games for devising, improvisation, movement, voice, character and object, we will meet the fundamentals of performance in this bash through the soupy waters of creative chaos. Come with openness, playfulness and imagination, and leave maybe with a little spark of something that was waiting to be seen.

2.5 hours with a small refreshment break.

WHO IS IT FOR?

All secret (and not-so secret) performers/ writers/ dancers/ artists/ and makers and anyone with a desire to start cooking that play/ poem/ clown show/ movement piece/ stand-up set that wants to be out in the world. This is a highly accessible, light-hearted workshop for all abilities and experience levels. Recommended age: 10 – 100.
