How to get to SEALL events ~ the Isle of Skye

Switch off your SATNAV system - use a MAP! - otherwise we guarantee you will land up in Mallaig with no ferry, or being led completely up the glen! If you have to, our postcode is IV45 8RQ - but you have been warned!

By car

From Edinburgh, by the A9, Dalwhinnie, approximately 230 miles from the Forth Road Bridge to the venue. From Glasgow, by the A82, Loch Lomond, approximately 210 miles from Glasgow to the venue. From Inverness either A82, Invermoriston, 100 miles to the venue. Or A832 to Achnasheen, 102 miles to the venue.

Ferries

The Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry from Mallaig to Armadale. Cars need to book in mid-summer and sign in 30 minutes before departure. The journey takes 35 minutes. The ferry runs 6 times a day from around 9 am to 6 pm. Armadale: Tel +44(0)1471 844248 Mallaig: Tel +44(0)1687 462403

Glenelg - Kylerhea Ferry The Glenelg ferry is now run by the Communy. It runs non-stop from Easter to October from around 10am to 7pm. The crossing takes 5 minutes, but you might have to wait if the ferry is at the other side. Allow more time to drive than the Skye Bridge route - cost of crossing about the same as the Bridge. By Rail

There are two railway stations nearby: - Kyle of Lochalsh, via Inverness, just across the Skye Bridge and 20 miles from the venue. - Mallaig, via Glasgow and Fort William, then a 25 minutes ferry journey to Armadale, which is 2 miles from the venue.
