SEALL’s Creative Practitioner, Hannah Myers is looking for artists, performers and anyone
with a creative practice to deliver creative activities in primary schools around Skye and
Lochalsh. The role requires a compulsory PVG check of which the costs will be met by
Hannah has been delivering art activities in schools since July 2021 and will be mentoring
the artists/performers on their journey as they work in the schools. Successful applicants
will shadow Hannah to begin with and they are encouraged to work in school/s local to
them where possible. No previous experience of working in schools needed. Hannah will
have a discussion with each applicant about their creative skills and how they can be
applied as activities for children of varying ages.
A fee of up to £2900 is available and ideally successful applicants will work for a 12 week
period but, as this opportunity is on a flexible timescale, a work schedule can be agreed
upon in order to allow time for other occupations/commitments.
The work can be done on a part time or full time basis.
One requirement is that two thirds of the time must be spent working in the schools and
one third is to be used for research, planning and preparation for the activities.
There is a £100 budget available to cover material costs.
