THS IS AN ONLINE EVENT LIVE-STREAMED DIRECTLY FROM DUNVEGAN CASTLE
One of the greatest castles in the Hebrides, the majestic Dunvegan Castle is the only Highland castle to have been continuously occupied by the same family for 800 years.
Ancestral home of the Clan MacLeod, this nationally significant ancient fortress with its complex architecture and extensive gardens stands a mile north of Dunvegan village and is one of Skye’s most popular visitor attractions.
The castle houses a unique collection of many beautiful paintings and important heirlooms such as Ruairidh Mòr’s drinking horn, Flora MacDonald’s Jacobite Relics and the magical Fairy Flag (Am Bratach Sìth) which is said to carry invincibility for the MacLeods when unfurled in battle.
Formerly the great hall, the castle’s magnificent drawing room dates from the latter part of the 14th century and provides a stunning setting our second festival concert.
