Fèis an Eilein returns this July with a packed week of hands on workshops in Kyleakin, culminating in the Puppet Picnic Parade on Saturday 18 July.
Running at Kyleakin Community Hall, the programme brings together children, young people and families for a week of making, music and performance, all inspired by this year’s theme: space.
Across the week, participants can drop in to giant puppet making sessions (10am–4pm daily), take part in drama workshops led by Lucie Yavruturk, try stilt walking with Ewan Macintyre, and join samba drumming sessions with Tamlin Wiltshire. Additional parade skills workshops will run throughout the week, helping shape the final event.
The Puppet Picnic Parade takes place on Saturday 18 July, beginning at 11am with a parade from Kyleakin Pier (meeting at Pier/Meuse Lane), before continuing with family activities at Kyleakin Community Hall from 12pm - 4pm.
The afternoon will feature live music, puppets, games and performances from Skye Circus, Skye Wind Band and others. A secret performance from a big Scottish act is also planned as part of the day. Watch this space!
Fèis an Eilein is a free, community focused festival of creativity and fun. Workshops are pay what you can and open to a wide range of ages and abilities.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Hall closed 12.30pm - 1.30pm daily for lunch. Bring your own lunch box!
