One festival. No two nights the same.

The Festival of Small Halls is all about collaboration, spontaneity and the magic that happens when great musicians get together in small spaces.

Our eight artists will spend time sharing music, ideas and influences before creating a series of entirely unique sets especially for the festival.

Every night will be different. Every hall will have its own atmosphere.

And you'll be right there in the middle of it.

On the road

All eight musicians will come together for the opening night at Dunvegan Community Hall and the closing night at Sligachan Hotel.

For the rest of the tour, they'll split into two groups of four and head out across Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh.

More than a gig

Along the way, the musicians will be running workshops, dropping into informal sessions and performing in care homes, bringing music into communities right across the region.

Small halls. Big music.

Now a firm fixture in Scotland's cultural calendar, the Festival of Small Halls brings together two touring ensembles of musicians who travel across Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh, performing in some of the region's most characterful small venues.

From village halls to tiny community spaces, each setting offers something different.

Past performers include Duncan Chisholm, Hannah Rarity, Ingrid Henderson, Gary Innes, Laura Wilkie, Innes Watson and Angus MacKenzie.
