The Fèis an Eilein – Skye Festival – was due to return in 2020 with a completely new look to celebrate the Year of Scotland’s Coasts and Waters.
With the uncertainty of viral patterns and changing roadmaps towards social gatherings, the re-launch of the Fèis will not take place this year either.
Instead we will celebrate our relationship with the rivers, glens, coastline and the unique culture of Scotland’s most iconic Island with a summer-long programme of safe, socially-distanced events, online and outdoors (where permitted).
Through a spectacular programme of music, theatre, dance, literature and children’s events, the events will highlight the distinctiveness of Scotland’s coasts and waters, while raising awareness of their fragility and the need to protect them for future generations.
Programme and information coming soon.
If all goes to plan and it is safe to do so, we hope to relaunch the Fèis which will take place across Skye and Raasay from Friday 1 to Sunday 10 July 2022 in Scotland’s Year of Storytelling.
